Hi folks. Should I turn on Windows compatibility, or build any special character sanitization / replacement into my script for my particular use case(s)? I won’t be using Windows per se, but here’s what would be involved:
Folders and files created on my Mac, sent by SMB to my external EXFAT drive, which is connected to my Plex server (a Raspberry Pi using the Linux DietPi OS), with the end client(s) being Plex / Plexamp.
Actually, most of my audio files would not have been “created” by me of course, though I suppose they will be created / modified by Picard.
I believe colons can be a problem for SMB, but you can’t create a file or folder with a colon on a Mac.
Finally, note that I have “replace non-ASCII characters” turned on, which sounds handy no matter what.
